Glass Sword Review 5/5 starts Okay let me just start by saying the book was AMAZING!!! Oh My Goodness! How I fell in love with it! THE FEELS!!! ❤️❤️ Okay, now to get to the real book review done! This book starts off where Red Queen Left off. Mare and the gang wake up and try to get to a remote island called Tuck. On there way, they run into a little bit of trouble. Shade, gets shot by one of the Silvers. And They use their super powers to protect themselves. Along with Mare is Cal, Kilorn, Farley and Shade. Mare has the power of Lightning, Cal fire, and Shade teleporting. They split up on two groups to get to Tuck. They go to tuck where some of the reds are. Mare's Family, The Colonel, Red soldiers, and a few others. When arriving at Tuck, the team (Cal, Kilorn, Farley, Shade, and Mare) are sepperated into Barracks. They take Cal somewhere hidden because he is a silver. Mare reunites with her family and shade! Her family is overjoyed to see Mare and Shade who they just found out was alive. A few days pass and Mare creates a plan rescue all of the New bloods. A new blood is what they call the reds with silver abilities. Mare falls asleep early one night, she is frustrated she can't find or talk to Cal. Gisa Mare's younger sister overhears Kilorn, Farley, and the Colonel talking one night about where Cal is staying. She tells Mare she overheard them saying something about Barracks One. Mare goes to the end of the Barracks only to find there is no Barracks one. She visits with Farley and the Colonel, after the Colonel leaves, Mare asks Farley about barracks one. Farley gives Mare a gold key around her neck that unlocks Barracks One. Farley tells Mare that Barracks one is underwater. Mare and Kilorn dive underwater to find Cal. Before diving under Kilorn tells Mare to trust him. Mare has been having trouble trusting anyone since Maven betrayed her. THIS PART CONTAINS A SPOILER! Once underwater Kilorn tricks Mare and slams the door shut into barracks one locking Mare and Cal in a place that weakens their powers. Silent Stone. The General comes back in with Kilorn laughing. Farley is the next victim, Kilorn pokes a thing in her and "kills" her. SPOLIER OVER! Mare learns to trust her friends, even when it's really hard! The team has one goal to save the new bloods! They travel all over convincing New bloods to join their team and use their powers to defeat Maven. Mare and the team convince about 20 new bloods to join their team. The new blood can and are more powerful than some of the silvers. Cal trains each new blood to use there powers properly. Every new blood they lose, and they do lose some, is a point for Maven. The team travel around the countries "collecting" every new blood they see. Mare receives nots from Maven warning and trying to scare her. She doesn't tell anyone about the notes, not even Cal. Maven threats wound mare emotionally. Along the way Mare and the team meet a man named Jon. Jon is a new blood- he can see into the future. He tells them if they don't break into the palace in the next three days, they would be caught. Farley also asked Jon a question but tells Mare the answer is yes, but never the question. She doesn't tell Farley until later. Mare, the team, and most of the been loos rush to the palace to save there friends. There is this one girl in particular Ada? Who can shape shift. She can transform to look like anyone, and she is very helpful in this part. For she transforms into Maven. She pretends to go around and order stuff to the guards so that she can buy enough time for Mare, Cal, Farley, and the new bloods to get to the cells without being caught. She succeeds. They rescue as many people as they can and run out to the plane. SPOILERS from this scene. They Kill Queen Elara. Jon is a traitor Elara captures Mare but then quickly escapes Sara and Julian are safe Shade dies Spoilers OVER The Scarlet Guard proves they are powerful, strong and restless The prove to the world who they are. Mare finally tells Farley after the prison break in that Jon said the answer to her question is yes. There is death, evil and power in this story. It comes together amazingly. Book ends in Cliff Hanger! My Glass Sword Assumptions/ Hopes for the third book! Do NOT read unless you have read the book!!! Farley is pregnant The new bloods will fight Maven once and for all. Cal and Mare will become King and Queen again. Julian and Sara will get married
My Review Have you ever heard the saying the first book is always better than the sequel! This book proved that WRONG!! Oh My! I honestly didn't think I would like Glass Sword as much as Red Queen, but I was wrong! I loved this book even more! It is fill with action, adventure, suspense and hope! I will never not read a book by Victoria Aveyard! She is one of my favorite authors!! You actually feel like your in the book. Sometimes your screaming at Mare sometimes your hugging her. It's fun to try and figure out who to trust and who is lying! The feels!! AHHH! This book is phenomenal! It's a wonder plot and the characters! Ah! I fell in love with them! Well, everyone but Maven! I totally ship Cal and Mare, so I wasn't to happy in some of the parts! But it's fun to see how Mare interacts with both Cal and Maven! Over I give this book 5 stars! The plot, charaters, setting, and cover were perfect! Okay, so I'm a big sucker for books with beautiful covers! And this cover is defiantly on my top ten favorites! I hated how the ending leaves you hanging! Cliff hangers are the worst! But I have to admit it made the book more interesting! I LOVE this book! Please go and read it now! But start with Red Queen!
