Synopsis:
Emily and Sloane have been best friends ever since Emily helped Sloane break into her own house. They were inseperatable. Sloane was very popular at school, and Emily was more of Sloane shadow. One summer day, Emily goes to get Sloane and notices she is gone. She checks back the next day, and next and so forth. Sloane is gone. With no trace of her anywhere, Emily panics. Until one day. There is a letter in the mail of a list of things to her to complete. In Sloanes handwritting. Sloane was more of the rebel who liked to have a good time, and Emily was quite and shy. This was a bucket list for Emily. If she did it all it may lead her to Sloane. Sloane, her only friend, who she needed most. Some of the items of the list are easy, some of them are strange and hard. Emily's summer becomes one big giant puzzle. She has to place the pieces right to win. Win back Sloane. Emily has called, texted, and asked anyone she can to find Sloane. This is not how the summer was planned. Along the way Emily meets Frank, Collins, and Dawn. Her three new friends who would do anything to help her. 13 steps, could lead her to find her best friend. Is it worth it to do everything to find her? What if the list doesn't lead her to Sloane. But what if it does...
My Review: This book was absoultley amazing. The cover is gorgeous! And the book exceeded my expectations! Morgan Matson did a wonderfull job of including supsence and romance into the story.
I loved reading about how Emily interacted with Collins, Dawn and especially Frank. The characters come to life in this story and you can really feel the emotions coming out of the book. My favorite challenge Emily did was 9- Dance until Dawn and 12- Apple picking at night. Each chapter is based on the challenge that Emily completes. The ending killed me, but it was almost for the better. Through out the book I was kind of mad at Sloane for not telling Emily anything or even calling her. I was confused by why she would even want to do that. It caused Emily hurt and stress, and I didn't know why anyone would want to put their best friend through that. But in the end, I found out why Sloane had just dissapeared. And I wasn't very mad anymore. The ending is so sweet, and I loved it. Morgan Matson is one of my favorite authors, and I finally got to read this book! I can't wait to read the unexpected everything this summer!
